Welcome to the website of Mark Skinner CAT AMIMI Trailers Training & Compliance.
I am a time served mechanical engineer and completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with CAV Lucas back in the late seventies and early eighties. Over the last four decades I have had several business’s including light haulage, motor vehicle repair and maintenance and specialist vehicle and trailer conversions, I’ve worked in the motor trade at main agents, repairing cars, vans, commercial vehicle, bus and coaches, and trailers.
I Taught and assessed the IMI Motor Vehicle course at my local college.
The trailer work covered all kinds of road towable equipment from goods trailers and transporters to chippers, compressors and lighting towers. I introduced a maintenance and servicing programme for a national plant hire company to ensure trailers were kept legal at all times they were being used on the public highway. Preventative maintenance far out weighs the costs of reactive maintenance. This gives piece of mind when stopped by the police or the DVSA, and protects your operators licence.
I am a IMI Certified Automotive Trainer. I am also am associate member of the Institute of Motor Industries and the National Trailer and Towing Association. I am an Instructor and training provider for UK Rural Skills and a supporter of Tyre Safe
